GROW!

Let’s face it- you don’t stand a chance of having a Big Bang happen in your life and you just become an awesome and efficient person – reigning in the various aspects of your life. No! NO! Nope! Let no one deceive you. The success you want to see comes by making one good decision behind the other over time. Yes, I said it “time!” You’re not a pop tart! It will take time to have the kind of mindset that places you in a rhythm of making wise decisions. As a maturing woman, I can attest that there are some silly things we do, hoping that it will just work out. However, we’ll continue to get the results we don’t want until we accept that we must change!
“Knock, knock underdeveloped teenage brain!”
I recall living in St. Petersburg, Florida as a teen, one street over from my Uncle William, who was quite the stickler for discipline and order. Needless to say, I was not like him. The term “flying by the seat of my pants,” would best describe me. After the umpteenth time, I was locked out of my own house because didn’t prioritize taking up my keys before leaving home, I didn’t want Uncle William to have to give me another lecture on carelessness. If he did, I would have to sing another song in my head loudly to get through the unending lecture on “what if’s!” I thought, “How did he become so unhappy in life? All he has to do is let me into my house!” Eventually, I started finding ways to break-in in the most inconspicuous ways, of course. Knock, knock underdeveloped teenage brain! Walk with your keys! Finally, I created the keychain of the century with every creative expression of myself on it. It was hard to forget anywhere and the problem stopped! Aah!

Doors will continue to be closed until you either find the right keys to open them or have the authority to enter them! It is unlikely for the door to change, but it is necessary that we do! What are the things that you have been demanding to change in your life? Do you need to take some time to ascertain the correct key to open that door or the actions that authorizes your entrance?
If I were asked to pay a toll for a Bible verse, it would be this one. “As a man thinks in his heart so is he.” Prov 23:7. Hmmmn…let’s put the pieces together. You’re going to have to find out what you think in your heart genuinely if you are going to see changes in your life. What we believe is in clear demonstration in our lives right now. Stop and look at your life…you’re looking at your belief system.
What you prioritize is because of what you believe.
How you spend your time and money on is because of what you believe.
What you’re offended by is because of what you believe.
What gives you great joy is because of what you believe.
How hard you work is because of what you believe.
The friends you have is because of what you believe.
I choose nothing less to recalibrate my belief system but the infallible Word of GOD. To think like GOD, I have to steadily fill up on His Word. Any part of my life that does not reflect His Word is a place where I am deficient in my intake and output. Let’s grow past some failures by changing our stubborn mindsets.
First, begin with what’s not working, and, secondly, accept that your mindset must change. Thirdly, find out what the Bible says about the topic and meditate on it. Lastly, begin to take steps toward doing otherwise. We’ll talk more about it in the next blog.
Here’s your jolt for the greatest 2025!
